Vegan Dad on the TVA Podcast

Although I cringe every time I hear my voice on tape (it reminds me of the Far Side joke showing a bunch of nerds playing with a voice recorder and wondering if their voices really sound that funny), I am providing the link to my recent podcast interview with the Toronto Vegetarian Association. It is podcast 143, and I am on in the final half. Many thanks to Lisa for a great interview.

Your voice is totally normal! But I know what you mean-- esp. as a singer, I hear my singing voice all the time, so my speaking voice also makes me cringe. I think we're all like that.

Great interview!

I have frequented your blog for a long time. I was listening to Toronto Veg. Podcast..and hadn't read the preview. Definitely was surprised to hear you on it! Good interview! Is there a place in Toronto I can pick up your book as opposed to the internet?

I just listened to the podcast. I liked learning that this fantastic blog had such modest beginnings... maybe there's hope for the rest of us. Thanks for all your great posts. I make the hot wings at least monthly!

Awww... that was great! Congrats!! (I hate hearing my voice too. I have to hear it at work quite often, and it drives me crazy!)

I can't imagine what I would have done without the vegan blog community. I honestly don't think I could have made the leap from vegetarianism to veganism.

Great interview! I will now be able to read your blog with your "real voice" in my head! :)
And yes... EVERY ONE hates the sound of their own voice on the radio or wherever...
Thanks for continuing to inspire us and provide such wonderful recipes!

I loved your interview and being able to put a voice (if not a picture, I tried googling that ;) to your blog. Being an expatriate of Canada and now living in the US, your newly discovered and much loved blog is also a nice link to home with the occasional Canadian references. Of course with my raising veg*n kids, I truly appreciate your posting the kids responses and your family friendly and honest approach to the vegan lifestyle. Thanks so much!!

I'll have to listen to that. Having recently been diagnosed with esophageal cancer I've been looking to see what I can eat from the limited list of foods available to me.

Although I can't eat most of what's on your page, it all looks delicious!

Great interview and for heaven's sake you don't sound funny at all! Wish we had a vegan/veggie radio program down here in the Mid-A. (Maybe we do, and I just haven't found it yet...)
You're obviously reaching young people with your blog, and we should all aspire to be this influential.

Hi--just wanted to say that I enjoyed the interview (and of course your blog). I really appreciate your do-it-yourself approach to the faux meats and also your willingness to share recipes without 'hoarding' or making them exclusive to a cookbook. You're taking things that are generally only available to vegans at considerable cost (not to mention wasteful packaging and preservatives) and making them accessible. I hope others follow your generous, power-to-the-people approach!
